Manly round 3 report

The manly round of the B.E.C competition had the highest attendence thus far with 15 anglers turning up to compete.Rainy weather earlier in the day thankfully held off in the evening as we gathered for the sign in and greet.

After partners were drawn out of the hat and sorted,the 7pm start saw many stick around the breakwall area to get some points on the board.

Some guys moved around within the boundaries to find some more productive areas,as the squid were quite shut down on the night.There were alot of social anglers about as well which was making things a little tough.
Most returned to check in early,with the exception of Son and Johnny who just made it back in time!!(lucky for them!!)

Tom,Grahame,Son,Chris and Alan were the only anglers with squid to present at weigh in.
After a check on tube length the weights were taken and recorded.

The results for the round .

1st place- Son with 3 squid at 20.5cm tube length,19cm tube length and 17cm tube length for a total of 1.16kg
5 points for 1st place,1 point for qualifying size and 1 bonus point for largest squid by weight- 7 points

2nd place- Alan with 2 squid at 22cm tube length,20cm tube length for a total of 1 kg
4 points for 2nd place,1 point for qualifying squid- 5 points

3rd place was shared by both Tom and Chris,both weighed in bags of 490 grams.
Tom 3 squid,all were 15cm tube length
Chris 1 squid at 21cm tube length
3 points for 3rd place,1 point for qualifying squid- 4 points

And Grahame scored 1 point with his squid at 20cm tube length,400 grams weight.
1 point for qualifying squid- 1 point

Son also scooped the heaviest squid which came in at 660 grams.

Once everything was recorded it was time to award Son with his prizes for winning the round and also winning the heaviest squid.

Congrats to Son, he did well to fill his bag on what was a tough night. A big pat on the back for the organizers for putting together a great night, thanks guys. It was good to see a few more faces at this event and I hope to see you all again at the next round at Vic pt in a few weeks time.
