Underwater Lights Empty Underwater Lights

I found the below whilst trawling the net on squidding. Thought it was a neat idea on lighting up the area to attract baitfish and possibly squid.

underwater lights most definately attract baitfish and squid whilst anchored
at $299 they are cheaper than the Aqualuma lights (around $800 from memory), being power led's, they draw heaps of current (2.5amp per set, 2 sets = 5amp).

i have found that the low voltage leds do a good enough job without the high power usage. these ones only use 0.5amp per set.

if you go with underwaters, i find the white ones to be the best for the fishing,
the blue ones still work ok, they look nicer

I bought one of these and replaced the lead with a 3m length. I hang it in the water about a foot below the surface, dangling on its lead. Runs from a 12v 7.2ah sla battery for about 5 hours. Certianly works well and much easier to spot the squid with no glare on the water.
