A non Eging Idea
Guys, the Bass season is fast approaching but I'm as busy as a one armed brick layer in Baghdad for the next couple of months. I was thinking of a few of us getting together for a Bass fish in the Brissy River during November. We have good access to the river out here and can do an easy 4 hour downstream only paddle between two bridges. Finish will be 5 minutes from my house. I have enough Canoes and Kayaks to cover 10 people but if anyone has their own it would be even better. I could probably raise some more yaks or Canoes from Fitz if needed. Please give me some thoughts on doing something a little bit different. We are about 1 hour drive west of Brisbane CBD, or easy run from North or South side on the Gateway/Logan Motorways. (85k's from Fish Head)

very interesting Dale - I would love to get my first freshwater fish - bass/yellow doesnt matter - ive been about 4 times and have seen them caught but have never been able to tempt one.
Re: A non Eging Idea
What a great offer mate, thank you.
I'm off to Awoonga on the 12-14th of November..any other date would be good.
I have my own yak(well...Tom's yak)so I am good to go.

Dale,
Mate, very very interested. I use to do quite a bit of wild bass fishing with lure and fly, but have not done any for a few years and not this side of the NSW border. I dont have a canoe or kayak so might need to borrow one - or I can suss the hire thing
Cheers

Re: A non Eging Idea
Currently Pam and I have two 2 seater 15' Old Town Guides, and 1 x 3 seater old town Predator. Pam has an Electric powered Peekaboo Angler and I have an Electric powered Ocean Kayak Torque. (The leccy's are a pain in the river though, easier to paddle them.) I can have our 3rd 15' Guide ready, it doesn't have seats at the moment, and I can also borrow the Sweetwater 15' Guide. With a bit of planning I could ask Fitz to borrow some from BLA for a weekend too. Don't hire anything. We may look at a week or so after Mick gets back from Awoonga to let his arms rest up a bit.

Great idea, yep I'm there with bells on Dale! I don't want to be in a canoe with Andy or Les tho Andy cause he is a freshwater virgin, and Les cause he hasn't been in a canoe and I don't want a wet ass

Hahahaha, ok for you, I ain't asian and can't walk on water so that means wet ass! Naah canoes aren't that bad as long as you don't make sharp moves or push your weight over one side too quickly. And at least in November the water will be warm and the leeches will be out, hey Andy!!!

Andy,I and Kyle would digress
I am still the leach king though-12 attatched and feet that looked like a prop from the texas chainsaw massacre after removing them.
Good clean fun though.
