Re: Keimura or not to Keimura
i think that they would probably work well in the places we fish, ie wilsons, as u cant really say those are super dark places(like fishing in the middle of the bay) well lit places, but because its night, it could be similar from a squids perspective as a dark cloudy day... i like the rainbow tape, and the darker tapes like red for the places we fish (under lights) as they give good silhouettes compared to silver tapes, depending on water clarity, i use greenish or natural cloths for clear water, pinks and oranges for murkier water, and only use full glow bodies if all else fails, or im blind casting.
i have a pink 3.5 razorback with a rainbow tape body, that ive been using and catching squid on for 10 years, and its still my fave, its just not so good for shallow water, but off woody point etc, its great.

Re: Keimura or not to Keimura
Phewwww, thank God we got the confusion sorted I was about to hunt some one down for calling me Winga, nah jokes aside Winga is a decent bloke and for the record we look nothing alike I am much better looking
Getting back to Keimura, it is just a fancy word for permanent Glo-max, all it does is enhance the visual presence of a jig, it does this by using UV enhancing paint or dye. Almost all squid are color blind, however, they can see 3 of the 6 UV light spectrum's we can not, so by enhancing the visual presence of the coating on an egi theoretically the squid should be able to see it better. That said there is definitely a time to use one and its not at night, Keimura products require UV light to make them work and the moon does not project UV, best conditions are when it is overcast but when the UV index is high or when high sun conditions occur with cloudy shallow water. By saying they do not work at night all this means is the Keimura will not be active at night not that the jig will not work at night. For me I prefer to use Glo-Max by Fishleague (ecogear) or a product called UV make up, that way I can have Keimura when ever I like and it washes off after a while so I can use it on my natural colors without making them too bright when I dont want it.

Re: Keimura or not to Keimura
yeah not sure about keimura i just use what takes my fancy but most of my jigs in the yamashita range the egi oh q live in particular have keimura and they tend to out fish other squid fishermen when i go for a day seshion but during night only my glow types work best.

Re: Keimura or not to Keimura
i like Pauls idea, but im always more into flash and action and tune my jigs to the like hence the love for the naory, yozuri RS, ema nudes, breaden need to get a hard bodied jig cos in shallow their action is far showier than any jig around imho
