2506 spool
hi guys and gals,
just wondering if anyone knows of anywhere in bris i can buy an OEM 2506 certate spool (3kg drag) (2010 model). Have found alot of places that sell the RCS 2506 7kg spool, but no one keeps the OEM spools. I have a certate 2500 (7kg drag) but want to be able to change the spool over to the 2506 3kg when i wanna play.

Hi Steve,
I don't know about the genuine certate spool but any Daiwa stockist should be able to order an RCS 2506 air spool (3kg drag) for you .
Cheers,
Al

Personally I'd get one of the new RCS blue or red spools, they may be rated to 7kg drag but you don't have to use it, plus they look dead sexy on the new certates.

if you have the older certate (not magseal) you can get a rcs drag adaptor it takes a normal 2500 spool right down to about 3kg drag. From memory they cost about $50ish so a lot cheaper then buying a new spool.
this is what it looks like -- http://www.rayannes.com.au/daiwa-shimano-reels-australia/rods-reels/daiwa/daiwa-custom-reel-parts/spools-etc/daiwa-rcs-finesse-drag-adaptor-m/
However having 2 spools is easier to swap over then having to pull the drag stack out.
As Alan mentioned Daiwa should be able to get you one in. Could try authorised Daiwa dealers like Tackleware House and Fish Head.
Failing those two places then Plat, Japan Pro Fishing, Bass.jp or even ebay might be your best chances.

Re: 2506 spool
Thanks for the input guys but I have just about tried everyone in bris and even Perth. No one stocks them because of he dollar figure.
I don't want the rcs version (blue/red) of it, there is no point other then The looks. It has the same drag as what it currently has now. I'm only doing this excercise cause I want the 3kg drag.
I have seen those drag adapters and while they look like a good bit of gear, it's not for me. I don't want to be sitting there changing drags out while I'm fishing. Would much rather just to change spools :-p
Fish head have those drag adapters in stock if anyone is interested.

Re: 2506 spool
if the shops here are unable to help, i think your best chances are contacting one of the larger online jap stores.
Re: 2506 spool
Daiwa Australia has them instock. I can buy direct from them. Was just hoping to find a local Brisbane store that had one. I'll just order it from Daiwa. Plat is dearer then Daiwa Australia. I can get it shipped up for cheaper then the item by itself from plat

I saw it on a japanese site but i wasnt able to click onto it due to work comp restrictions. It is very very limited and I know when the emeraldas inf was released there was a comp on Daiwa Japan's site (restricted to japanese market)
I know there was also a matching double handle - looked similar to the T3 handle.
