Re: Comp entry fee
Ok I'll play. Wat do we get for our $15 entry fee? Does it go towards end of tournament prizes, forum hosting or wat?
Not kickin up a stink. Just think it would have been better if it was posted earlier then the day before the round for us noobs that have never been to one of BECs comps. from my understanding of it, it is just a "fun" tournament.
Also a few more details I think are required for again, the "noobs". Yes the comp is at manly, but manly is a BIG place. and it starts at 7pm. All well and good but where does everyone meet prior to fishing and where is the "weigh in" area?

Re: Comp entry fee
I understand that most comps have entry fees but they are generally ALOT bigger then what I would have called an "inter club social". I have been around many forums for many years (not fishing related) but every comp on those forums were for fun, if there was prizes they were put up by forum sponsors with no entry costs unless it was a fund raiser event whether it be for charity or for forum hosting costs.
Sorry I'm just trying to get a better understanding of how this forum is run.

Re: Comp entry fee
Steve so you dont get lost the meet up point is at the end of
Trafalgar St, Manly Harbour
Manly QLD
Comp starts at 709pm but can you be there 1 hour before hand please
As for the entry money it goes to prizes during the rounds. The sport up here isnt as big as the bream tournaments. So we rely on sponsors one being Fish on Pro and the other Tackle world Sandgate. There we use the money to purchase prizes and they throw in some extra prizes and the minor sponsors such as shimano yamashita,Berkley,Gancraft,Megabass,Eco Gear etc have given us some lucky dip prizes. These will be picked out of a hat at the end of the night.
As for social nights thats diffrent there will be a minor prize for the biggest squid. This is an alternative night.
And its for free.
The information was posted im sorry you missed it.

Guys the dates that i chose for this season are comp start times. As every year be there 1 to 1/2 an hour prior to the start time.Dont be late that's why we have start times.
Correct Shane it would be great if guys are there between 6-6:30pm at Wilsons in Manly. The cost is $15 per competitor.Boundary maps will be available on the night.
The meet up point is
4 Trafalgar St, Manly Harbour Manly
Aaron can you post the meet up point map if necessary.
Guys remember bring snacks and drinks keep hydrated.A good torch and warm clothes.
If there is any other question please pm me.

Re: Comp entry fee
the only thing i have been able to find regarding competition details is a post with locations and dates and what looks like tide times.
a post with how the competition will be judged. do you get points from number of fish/squid caught, total weight points (ie 10 points per kg of fish/squid, 1 point per 100g), points for biggest fish/squid, species classes or what. there is sooo many variables that have been unanswered. if it is all posted on the forum, nobody can turn around and say "that was just a made up ruling on the spot". put all the info out there on the forum so its a level playing field. for a noob like me i dont know how you guys run competitions and havent been able to find anything regarding the rules and regs for your comps.
a simple post something along the lines of this below would not have gone astray regarding the round locations.

Re: Comp entry fee
Steve,
If you read the Rules for inter-club tournaments page you would have found the entry fee price. Might pay to read it so you know all the rules before you start.
Cheers,
Al
