Just been curious...

What do people use and why they chose that??

For me, Ive used a variety and currently using Unitika Egi Super PE II in #0.6 (8lb).

I started with the Daiwa TD Sensor Orange. Great braid for all round use but wasnt finesse enough. it tends to stick to itself.
Then went to Sunline Castaway. Awesome line for casting distance and bright enough colour without been flouro coloured. Downside is, its not very durable. I went through 2 spools per season.
Then I spent the money and got the Varivas Avani Egi PE. This is top shelf shit in 8ply and ridiculously smooth and looooong casting. Again not durable enough.
I think next I'll have to try the Duel Smooth Super PE line.

I use the same as you currently-Unitika Eging PE II,but mine is in PE#1 size..
at the time I only had the one spool on my reel, and wanted a good all round size line for different applications.

First time I have used the Unitika brand line, and am now a big fan of it.
Spool is now getting a little bit shallow,so will have to re spool soon. Now that I have a dedicated eging spool,I will probably drop the size to #0.6 or #0.8.

definately downsizing will be great for egi as it helps the jigs sink quicker, holds in the zone longer and wont be affected by wind and current as much.

Has anyone here used the Duel Smooth PE line here??

Like Mick, I just picked an all-rounder braid.
It sits on my all-rounder Twinpower 2500.

Don't quite know/understand what differentiates seabass and eging braid.
But anyway, I'm running Varivas Seabass Max Power (8 braid) #0.8.

Neither can I but figured they're (supposedly) designed for Egi, I'll match the rest of the outfit.
I have now run longer stiffer rod for greater distance and larger squid, matched to a JDM Twinpower 2500 and PE 0.8 Sunline Super PE.

Gonna try to get closer to the 100m cast!!

Please someone correct me if I'm wrong, but alot of the dedicated eging line I have seen has measurement markings along it's length-similar to jigging braid but in smaller increments.
That is one thing I have noticed about egi specific line-is there something else I am missing here too?
I also know they are available in sinking and floating styles...or have at least seen them advertised with these qualities.

well....my theory is for sinking braid, it helps you move the jig in a way that it stays in the strike zone longer and getting down there quicker, rather than the regular (re floating) line keeping it from sinking down faster.

Yes the small increments with black and white markers are to help you detect hits and how much line you have out for Ika jigging out in the boat. Personally I havent found the need for it. I use bright coloured braids and keep an eye for any movement or twitches on the line when it is slack.
