EOI Round 6 Final Round, Manly, Sat 24th Sept 2011

First topic message reminder :

G'day Guys,

We have decided to hold the last round for 2011 at Manly on Saturday 24th September. Start time 6:30 pm Finish time 11:00 pm. Meet up point is the same as previous Manly rounds.

For this round we are putting a ban on pre-fishing the area for 4 days before comp night. This is a voluntary ban and you won't be penalised if you decide to pre-fish in this time but we ask that you comply to make it fair for everyone else.

If it looks like the weather is going to turn to poo for the event we will try to move it to another date where conditions will be more suitable.

just took the family and dogs down to manly for a look at conditions for tomorrow night....wife , kids and dogs meant ..NO ROD
water...dirty in exposed areas but fishable in protected areas.
no squid were sighted but we didn't hang around for very long at all...but there are still squid around.
hopefully tomorrow the winds wont be so strong and make things a little more favourable for us on comp night.

it's going to foul up tomorrow night it is going to be blowing from the N all day and night and it will get stronger wind wize. i went to all the protected areas and the water was extremely poo brown colour.

inside the harbour isn't too bad so thats where I'll be looking....outside is not too good at all and I'll bet the squid are in the harbour itself.

Yep unfortunately the wind has decided to turn up at the wrong time (AGAIN ) so there is a high chance the water quality at Manly is going to be very average tonight making squid fishing tough.

I think we should either move the comp to Redcliffe tonight or try again in 2 weeks time at Manly. If we decide for Manly in 2 weeks I suggest an early morning round as this time of year is dominated by NE winds and we will be in the same position as we are today and we will not postpone the event twice.

I'll leave it up for discussion and have a chat to Andy before a decision is made.

With the wind coming from a Northerly direction my pick is Redcliffe as it usually fishes well in a Northerly.

does anyone know what water clarity is like at reddy?

The water clarity has been very good-excellent, particularly around Woody Pt where we would be fishing tonight if we go ahead and make the change, it is well protected from Northerly winds and usually stays clean when the wind is coming from this direction.

OK Andy....whats your thoughts on this????

Yeah it should be OK but there are no guarantees, just have to wait and see what its like when you get there, + hope there are some squid around also.

Doesn't bother me. Although all the forms and maps are for manly. I might have spares from last round though.

Righto, decisions been made to move to Redcliffe tonight. Start and finish times are the same, meet up point is the same as previous Redcliffe rounds.
