Where can I get a specialist egi rod around Bris ?
Hi Guys,
I recently had all of my fishing gear stolen (luckily insured) and among the stolen items was my custom egi rods that I made up for myself. Now i can't replace these as they were one off prototype blanks so until I find some more blanks that will be suitable to build up for egiing as well as finding time to build them, I will be looking to purchase some of the shelf factory jobs.
So I'm wondering where around Brissie can I find some good quality specialist egi rods ? What brands should I look out for and what should I expect to pay ?
Thanks,
Alan

Re: Where can I get a specialist egi rod around Bris ?
the only place in brisbane that i know that stock dedicated eging rods is Fishhead. I know they have daiwa emeraldas interlines and guided models, daiwa egee, hearty rise egi force type c and yamashita feeling shaft.
out of what they have available id go the emeraldas interline. i just got one recently and im super impressed (but feel guilty putting a shimano on it) i think they are around the $450 mark. as for the others available the hearty rise is nice too for the price (was told about the $250 mark - it hadnt been put on the shelf and tom showed me when boss was busy). I havent felt the egee rod yet so cant comment. and the yamashita are not worth it at all as i think they are a bit too finesse and short.
im sure with your experience with rod building you will be able to pick the right one.
