the rig is ready
well after the last few weeks of working and trying to fit the new donk in my spare time to my boat she's now ready for her maiden voyage/test run on sunday morning.
what a job!!!...had to rewire the whole boat from the old donk that lived on the back for 28 years...some of those electrics were stoneage...straight into the bin with them.
but anyway all has worked out good in the end and she now has a 60hp 4 stroke yammy on the r-send that needs a good run as it's sat fore the last 2 years doing next to nothing and needs the cobwebs blow out...YEEEEHAAAAAA!!!!

Re: the rig is ready
well the yammy had her test run today and I did the rounds of the Islands and the first thing that hits you is how QUIET it is....now I have to get use to the sound of rushing water instead of a 2 banger roaring away...did around 32.5 km's and used around 15 litres running her pretty hard so cruising the economy will be better still.
what a crap day....divers all around the good spots at peel and mirky water made for a donut trip but it was a shake down run so I didn't mind ....it was one of those days with anything that floats to some degree was out on the water screaming around so I wasn't expecting to catch too much....tooooo much noise for my likings.

Re: the rig is ready
cant buy a plug spanner from the yammy dealers as they only have what they were issued by the makers but good old Laurie told me what they do...go buy a set of plugs and then go down to supercheap auto and buy a tube socket and cut a bit off the end to enable you to get into the lower plug holes....clever cookies.
