Help me set up my EGI gear.........please
Hi there people, im new to the site and new to the sport of EGI. Basically I would like some advice on buying mid range gear specifically for catching squid. Price i think will prevent me from buying the best straight up and entry level is not really my thing so any advice would be sweet.
I have been catching Pike at Manly on soft plastics for a while now that I use for bait and berley on the weekends and have been noticing some good ink stains on William Gunn Jetty. I then began to think 'Why the hell am i wasting SP's on the fish when I could start catching squid for bait + a good feed"
So I signed up to this site and thought id ask the pro's the how/what and where of EGI.
Cheers
Glenn

Really depends on your budget and if you have any gear you already have that you can use. Available locally would be daiwa emeraldas inf Rods and reels and they would be a step above entry (although in the jdm world they are entry level but still pretty good value for money)
Locally sourced prob looking around the 400-500 mark. If you already have a reel (pref 2500 sized) then you could save on that. Of you choose to buy online you will limitless choices.
The emeraldas inf is the cheapest I'd go and yes I'm a daiwa fanboy. In all honesty though end of the day the decision is yours depending on what your budget is.
Cheers

Forgot to mention hearty rise egi force these can be sourced from our site sponsor fishon pro. The type b is very good value for money at reasonable price.
Otherwise the normal sites of plat, samurai tackle, Japan pro fishing. Keep in mind they dont list everything on the sites and most times they can do special orders.
