Couple of quick ones
Hey Guys,
We all like eating crumbed calamari right ???? Here's just another variation.
Substitute bread crumbs for rice bubbles = tasty
Run the required amount of rice bubbles through a food processor or blender etc.. till fine, making sure not to over do it and leave a bit of coarser stuff in there for extra crunch. If you don't have the machinery to do it you can put the rice bubbles in a mixing bowel and crush them with the back of a spoon, fork or spud masher. You can also use a plastic bag and rolling pin to crush them.
Once you have done this just crumb the squid (or any seafood or chicken for that matter) normally as you would with bread crumbs. Deep or shallow fry till golden.
Tastes great if you do the same with cornflakes too, would also be nice with G's coconut idea. Squeeze of fresh lime and some sweet chilli.....yum...
Try this for a dipping sauce - Bit of Paul Newmans ranch dressing mixed with your favourite sweet chilli sauce, start with a 50:50 mix and adjust it either way to your own taste.....
Cheers,
Al
