EOI Round 6 Final Round, Manly, Sat 24th Sept 2011

G'day Guys,

We have decided to hold the last round for 2011 at Manly on Saturday 24th September. Start time 6:30 pm Finish time 11:00 pm. Meet up point is the same as previous Manly rounds.

For this round we are putting a ban on pre-fishing the area for 4 days before comp night. This is a voluntary ban and you won't be penalised if you decide to pre-fish in this time but we ask that you comply to make it fair for everyone else.

If it looks like the weather is going to turn to poo for the event we will try to move it to another date where conditions will be more suitable.

It's just to give the squid a break from us to give everyone the best chance of catching them on the night.

no worries there mate...I'll be too stuffed on friday to bother fishing and 1.30am rises in the mornings mean NO midweek fishing.....BUGGER!!!!

Like I said we are not going to enforce the ban it is voluntary and you wont be penalised if you decide to pre-fish, it is just something we are trialing, it would probably be more effective if we made it for the whole week leading up to the comp but for now we will just make it 4 days.

ps...due to work I dont get to fish as much anymore so friday and saturday nights are all I get now.
pps...are we talking normal boundries or extended for the final comp????

I will have to miss this one again guys.....Unfortunately someone planned their wedding for this day in Newcastle (damn inconsiderate of them), and I do not think they will change it to allow me to fish the comp...........Between work and other committments I am having a bad run on the comp dates lately. Hope to catch up with everyone soon.

Peter does a fantastic job with the prizes even though he's on the other side of the country...we just need squid fishing to catch on more here in QLD.
Hopefully next year will be a better year for squid and (couldn't get any worse than 2011) we can get more members joined up and who knows ... I may even start up some lessons for the new members...(flash brainstorm)....what do you guys think about that one???

Will be a tough comp from the looks of the last week of catching squids, but you should be able to bag some if your persistant enough

your on the money there Les...but the few that are about are good size and kg models are about too.

I'll go have a look Friday night....WITH TORCH ONLY!!!!! ...I shall resist the temptation... crap thats gonna be hard.... and put up a report when I get home to let you guys know what the water is like and what numbers are about where so it's fair game to all who participate in the comp.

went down to manly just for a look NE winds have kicked in and the water is dirty as i would suggest go some where in the northern section of the bay or have the comp some other time
