Bass in the south pine
I've recently been fishing the south pine for bass and have been getting quite a few small bass but every big one that i have hooked on the surface hass just been able to either snag me up, shake the hooks or get me stuck in weed. Has anyone been able to land any big bass up there i've found a spot that was chookers full of big bass yesterday but in the kayak but they weren't extremely hungry cause they kept short striking. I did not get to see the size but then they hit the surface it was a pritty big splash. Has anyone been fishing in the south pine or anywhere recently and caught any good bass. Cause my biggest so far in the south pine river has been around 25-30cm and the pb this season has been in the high 40's.

Re: Bass in the south pine
I live in Springfield, and last year cleaned up at Mt Crosby on Bass, with some topping 40cm.
I wouldnt call myself a Bass Chaser, but damn,on a 1-3kg rod and 2kg line, they fight just as hard as most SW species.
I reckon i will be hitting 'em pretty hard this summer....
HB/SP only this year,as i usually just used Mullet !
